The door opened, and the wind swirled through the plane. It sounded like a freight train. It was the first time I’d taken off in a plane with no intention of landing in it. I peeked through the door at the bright blue sky, and fear gripped me. My heart raced, and my legs felt cemented to the plane. I heard a small voice in my head say, “what are you doing?”
